Madame DeLorean and I got our VR rig going. Our motherboard is our bottleneck since it doesn’t allow overclocking. Oof. That said, X-Plane VR is absolutely amazing.
I also relaxed and dyed my hair for the first time in nearly two years.

Yesterday was spent doing adult stuff like a haircut and a Costco run and such. Today was spent going back to Costco to pick up some furniture and then assembling said furniture. Oh, and watched some spotrsball and Mecum auction action in there too. No big fun. I think next weekend I’m going to go get my big old console stereo from my parents’ house and bring it home along with what’s left of my record collection.

I went up to Montreal with some friends for a bit of karting. It was my first trip outside the US. I had tons of fun but am now quite sore from a very bumpy surface and a couple of big hits.

That is awesome.
Was wet and cold saturday so I finally put a multicolor light strip above the china hutch in the dining room. ( Need to take pics) . Today I trimmed some bushes and finished sanding the rust off of my S10 floorboards and primed it.

Over the summer I did some high-speed karting on an outdoor track in nowhere, Indiana. Learned right quick not to drop one tire off the inside of the turns; that 2" drop-kick
is a spine-breaker.

I had to be in the Seattle area for work on Saturday. We finished up early so I went to the museum of flight.
Then I went to the Funko store because I still had time to kill.

I didn’t do anything that turned out as nice as that bench!
I did start some legs for a coffee table. My father is milling a piece of white oak for the top. It will be 22" wide, and about 56" long. The legs still need a bit of grinding and then some matte black paint.

Got the screwed engine out of the MJ. Late starts to both yesterday and today, so I ran out of daylight and didn’t get the good one in. Depending how much I have to fight to get the input shaft lined up, it’s only a couple more hours work, but the good weather window ends on Tuesday, and I’ve got no more daylight until then unless I bail on work tomorrow , which may not be an option given snow is in the forecast. But we’ll see I guess, depends on what all got broken over the weekend... Shouldn't have been too much but you never know .

Attempted a fuel filter swap on the 7.3. Super convenient being on top of the engine. Followed along with a YouTube video. He flips the valve to drain the fuel bowl, diesel dumps out "next I'll show you the hose I attached to the purge valve and where it's ran". Thanks buddy! Previous owner had an aftermarket fuel cap and filter. Maybe my motocraft will fit? Pushed it in and it locked onto the new filter without any chance of removal. Took the Stringbean to ORyley to get a new filter with cap. "I'm gonna have to order it, it'll be here Tuesday" "....search this part number, website says you have 3 in stock" got back and installed new filter. Old filter was offensive. Deleted the air I take heater as well with a nighty plug. Still need to do the wiring delete. Swapped the air intake as well and *oh lawd he comin* she can breathe

So far, nothing of note. Slept a lot yesterday, and today made a quick run to Costco for a few items but forgot the Castelvetrano olives - thankfully I still have one jar left . I really need to get going on cleaning up the living room, but haven’t done it yet. Tried removing the old license plate but it’s still stuck in place. Spent a bit of time on Train Simulator and watched a lot of stuff on YouTube.
Another doctor appointment tomorrow, this time for a chest CT scan. I should be out of there within an hour or two which leaves me the rest of the day. I’ll probably run over to my mechanic to see if he’s got better tools than me to get those damned plates off.

https://m.roadkillcustoms.com/how-to-make-a-tailgate-bench/
These are the plans I used. I used all 1x4s for the seat and 1x6 on top of 2x4 for the armrest to raise it up. Pretty straightforward.

Thats the way it was when I bought the tailgate. I guess I should remove it. Need to get my heat gun back.

I finished insulating the garage door on my workshop. It had been insulated w/ one of the vinyl-backed fiberglass kits, but that was kind of crap. Now it’s got 2" rigid foam cut and placed in each of the 16 sections of door. I had to re-program the door opening force, but now it’s opening and closing as expected and the door isn’t nearly the heat vector it once was (either direction)

I helped Jayhawk Jake move furniture in a Tacoma, spent a bunch of time in the office finishing a project, and went to our annual SCCA awards banquet.

What have I done this weekend?
And it’s amazing how you managed to make that wooden seat back look like the tailgate off of a Toyota truck...
